About the F4SA
The Honda Formula 4-Stroke Powerboat Series is the largest off-shore powerboat championship in the world. The championship was founded in 1999 with the help of Steve Curtis, MBE who has won the Class 1 World Offshore Powerboat series an amazing 8 times
The championship kicked off with 130hp boats but quickly the series evolved in to its current two class format (150hp and 225hp). There are plans afoot to take the championship even further (check out the Cougar website to see the shape of things to come!)
The series takes place over five weekends and is designed to be affordable by having a strict one design rule with modifications bannned. A 150hp boat will set you back about £28,900 whilst a 225hp boat will cost you £41,500. But even if this is out of your price range then you maybe able to get hold of a second hand boat from old competitors in the championship. check out the getting involved section of our site to see the cost breakdown!
In recent years the sport has had television exposure at a regional, national and international level reaching an estimated audience of more than 2,600,000 viewers. This has opened up major sponsership opporrtunities for all competitors/
